Hello everyone.  Welcome back to Share Shuan Shim, a guide to restaurants in Bangkok on BTS/MRT lines.

Today I'm going to introduce you to a new shopping mall that just opened last month, named  Gateway Ekamai (เกตเวย์ เอกมัย).  This mall just had a grand openning on July 18, 2012, or less than a month ago.

For the location, it's right at Ekamai BTS station (see the full interactive maps on Mall Gateway Ekamai page here
When you get off at Ekamai BTS station, there's a connecting bridge to walk into the mall right there, so convenient :-3.

The look of the mall

Gateway Ekamai is owned by the same owner as Digital Gateway Mall  at Siam Square.  The concept of Gateway Ekamai is "Remarkable ambience of Japanese lifestyle an extraordinary new experience", which means there're tons of Japanese restaurants here.  For those of you who love Japanese food, I think this is a must-visit for you :-D.  Not only the famous Japanese restaurant chains in Bangkok, there're also a lot of Japanese restaurants coming straight from Japan that open their first branch in Bangkok here :-3.

For traveling here, BTS is probably the most convenient way.  When you get off from the train at Ekamai station, you can see the mall right there.

Another peek from the platform.

Take Exit 4 to get to the connection to the mall.

Mr.Robot and the jumbo kitties are waiting at the entrace for ya all.

Mochi-kun here is the mall's mascot.

An atmosphere in the mall.

The day I got here, they're having a Tanabata festival celebration, which people can write down their wishes and hang on a bamboo tree and it will come true, so you can see that here as well.  It looks so vivacious like the real festival in Japan~.

Big folded birds floating above.

The signs in the mall look really cute, using Japanese famous minimalistic approach.
